This book is what I would use for my textbook if I were still teaching my six-credit Digital Publishing course for the Business Graphics degree I designed, taught, and led for 18 years in community colleges. This is a major update for me. Many of the changes I've been waiting for with ePUB production have been implemented. InDesign now stands at the top of the heap for book production in general and ePUB production in particular. You do not need to know code, though understanding how HTML and CSS works will aid your conceptual understanding. I was luke warm about FXL until I realized that the new fixed layout ePUBs would show gradient paragraph rules, gradient strokes and fills in tables, and much more. The only major thing we're missing is the fact that justification does not work in FXL. The exported ePUBs upload flawlessly to the iBooks Store and Kobo Writing Life. Coupled with Kindle's Textbook option, we now have an easy, efficient way to share training materials with our students and readers. Finally, the 21st century book publishing software we need is within our grasp. There's still more to come, but the present version is very good.
Practical Font Design has built a niche for itself among graphic and Web designers who want to build their own fonts: especially with the first book. I learned a lot since I wrote that first book. This radically revised, updated, and expanded third edition combines the first two books. They are rearranged so they make a lot more sense and some brand new material is added. This is a quick introduction showing a workflow to build new fonts using FontLab 5. Fourteen fonts are developed in this book including an 8-font text family and a companion 4-font sans serif for headers. The techniques are simple and easy to understand. The results are completely under your control.

End the confusion! God's people have been sold a bill of goods. If you think about it at all, evolution could not be true. If this young earth is really billions of years old, then God is a liar. You know that isn't true. This book tells the tale of God's creation lovingly, by a man who only recently came to his senses. It had been obvious when he visited the Grand Canyon that this hadn't happened over countless millennia. It had happened quickly with a massive flood of water. God made man. We didn't come from apes. The first two chapters of Genesis make excellent scientific sense when you understand how God did it and why He did it in the order it was done. It's amazing how clear it is when a believer explains how it works. Join David on a glorious trip through the 7,000 years of creation. Yes, there is only one millennium left for this one. Then this training place is dissolved in fire and replaced with what we commonly call heaven. God calls it a new creation. Rejoice in the glory of what He has done for us!

In the new millennium, an incredible opportunity has appeared to the Body of Christ: the new self-publishing paradigm. It is my belief that the Lord intends to use this gift as a tool to disciple the church and to plant seeds for the final harvest. Only time will tell about this. Regardless, the role of Christian author in the midst of all that is going on in the world needs careful examination. If the Lord has called you to write, what does that mean? You have been called by the Lord of Lords to do this work He has given you to do. That's real serious. This is God talking to you. What does He expect from you? How are you to respond? What skills will you need? How will you get your books to sell? The questions keep appearing before our eyes one after the other as we struggle to make sense of it all. So, who am I to try and help? One compelled to write about these issues and to encourage Christian authors to walk the strait and narrow path. I've been teaching scripture since 1974, which is almost as long as I have been working for publishers and designing books. I was a teaching pastor for over a decade. But, none of that matters. What matters is how you react to the message.
We start off this study with the words of Jesus about this narrow gate. They are words the church does not want to hear in this modern age of political correctness. But we really need to consider the implications.”You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.” [Matthew 7:13–14 NLT] We must start with the narrowness. Many people are made nervous by this. It is obvious that most pastors and priests are. How can you build a church by telling the people things like this? It is not good to talk about...
This is a packaged set of four of David's books. There are three verse-by-verse bible studies of Philippians, Galatians, and the two Timothys. This is Bible study like most of you have never experienced. All we do is discuss what Paul was trying to say when he wrote the letters. It is a study of the Bible and what God intended when he included these letters. The fourth book is David's most popular Christian book, "How To Teach the Bible." This is a practical explanation of what you need to do to be able to teach the Bible with power. It's a waste of time to teach scripture if the studier's lives are not changed. These are tested attitudes and techniques which will enable you to allow the Holy Spirit to use your teaching to help those the Lord gives you to teach.
The worldwide Flood is one of the most discounted records in the Scriptures. Yet it is supported around the world by historical accounts. Take a look at feasability studies on the safety and the stocking of the Ark. The Geologic Column ought to prove that fossils reveal the age of the earth. They show progression from simple to complex organisms over millions of years. But do they? Take a look at "living fossils." Meet the extinct creature found only in the "oldest" layers but more complex than "later" life forms. Consider the real conditions that surrounded the Flood and the Ice Age.
