International human rights law has at its core a concept that is so paradoxical, illogical and impractical that it renders itself incapable of accepted definition. It is a concept that sits still and silent in human rights legislation and screams at the top of its voice in human rights litigation. Its unwavering presence in the post-Nazism world not only confirms its importance in everything we do and say as human rights lawyers but it also calls into question whether it has indeed passed its use-by-date and fallen into the dark depths of ineptitude. This begs the question: "Does the concept of dignity have any meaning in international human rights law?" This study is a critical examination of the role that dignity plays in international human rights law. Sections include: defining dignity; the conceptual development of dignity; dignity in international human rights texts; dignity in judicial discourse; and dignity in legal process.
Our world is mired in chaos, disorder, and endless conflict. We have depleted the planet's natural resources to a point of scarcity. Wars now threaten to erupt over Earth's last dwindling natural resources: fossil fuel, water, arable land, and rare-earth minerals. We have used the fear of mutual assured annihilation by destructive weapons to achieve a tenuous and shaky peace in the world. Our financial institutions are imploding, as nations sink beneath oceans of debt. It is becoming clear that the entire model human civilization was built upon is flawed and destined to soon catastrophically unravel. Is this humanity's destiny or did we lose our way in a maze of material distractions? We needn't languish in the shadows of despair, failure, and mediocrity. We can achieve greatness, and bring harmony back to the world by emulating the patterns God has woven into nature. Nature's patterns are rooted in the science of compassion. We can triumph in life's darkest and most trying hour. We, too, can sparkle.

In the era when segregation and Jim Crow laws ruled the land, The Turkey Day Classic was created. The event prospered from 1927 to 1966. Newspaper accounts describe the classic between Jack Yates and Phillis Wheatley High Schools as the largest annually attended schoolboy game in America. Fans came dressed to kill to witness the game and the glorious halftime activities. Marching bands, drill squads, and other performing groups gave eloquent entertaining performances during halftime. However, the crowning of the schools queens were the highlights of halftime. Game summaries, team lineups, and editorial comments by the author are presented.
