Granddaughter of the philosopher Moses Mendelssohn and sister of the composer Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Fanny Hensel (1805-1847) was an extraordinary musician who left well over four hundred compositions, most of which fell into oblivion until their rediscovery late in the twentieth century. In Fanny Hensel: The Other Mendelssohn, R. Larry Todd offers a compelling, authoritative account of Hensel's life and music, and her struggle to emerge as a publicly recognized composer.

In September to be released as the film THE FAMILY, starring Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer and Tommy Lee Jones. Directed by Luc Besson, produced by Martin Scorsese. Fred Blake has moved to Normandy with his dysfunctional family, ostensibly to write a history of the Allied landings.. But Fred’s real name is Giovanni Manzoni - an ex-Mafia boss who has snitched. And his record in other locations under the FBI Witness Protection Program would indicate that his cover is not likely to last very long.
What happens when you've been under an uglification spell your entire life and it suddenly gets lifted? Well, read my book if you want to find out--it's what you might call a cautionary tale... I used to be plain, boring, forgettable Emma Plunkett...but that was back when I thought I was human. Now, I'm something completely different. I have raven hair, purple eyes, and the power to Fascinate--not to mention two gorgeous Fae warriors who have both sworn their undying love and loyalty to me. (How can I choose between them when I want them both?)I've heard the other students at Nocturne Academy whispering behind my back. Either I'm a lost Fairy Princess...or a creature so dark and evil I could change the fate of the Fae Realm forever--only I don't know which! But I have a bad feeling I'm about to find out...
Colloid and surface science is a fast developing science and as such needs an interdisciplinary approach to produce novel, well-formulated products and optimize manufacturing requirements. This book considers such an approach dealing with the application of surface and colloid science in processing colloidal and particulate materials in the chemical, pharmaceutical, food, ceramic, mineral and biotechnological industries. It covers the basic principles and their exploitation in process-scale operations and looks at inorganic colloids, biological systems and complex mixtures of both. It is the first book to link the science of this versatile subject with its industrial applications.
Presented at this workshop were mathematical models upon which process control is based and the practical applications of this method of control within industry; case studies include examples from the paper and pulp industry, materials industry and the chemical industry, among others. From these presentations emerged a need for further research and development into process control. Containing 19 papers these Proceedings will be a valuable reference work for all those involved in the designing of continuous production processes for industry and for the end user involved in the practical application of process control within their manufacturing process.
