The Labrador Central Mineral Belt comprises a series of six successive Proterozoic supracrustal sequences and associated Archean basement rocks occupying a 260-by-75 kilometre area in central to coastal Labrador. The Belt hosts most of the base metal and uraniferous occurrences known in Labrador. This report provides geological and geochemical data on each mineralised lithostratigraphic unit in the Belt, and then describes the mineral occurrences within that unit. Information is presented in this manner in order to define a chronological hierarchy of mineralisation within each basement and supracrustal sequence, which can then be used to examine large-scale regional parameters of mineralisation through the Belt. Limited sampling was completed on all showings and some new conclusions are presented based on this work.
