Novela corta. Teoría e historia
El concepto de novela corta (también novela breve) es un concepto esquivo. A los problemas para caracterizar el género novela se les añaden los problemas para delimitar la brevedad. Hoy son amplia mayoría los estudiosos que creen en la imposibilidad de definir la novela. En esas condiciones el problema de la brevedad se resuelve con criterios simples y convencionales: el número de páginas o de palabras, la posibilidad de la lectura de un tirón, etc. El grupo de investigación GENUS NOVEL, partiendo de las ideas de Mariano Baquero Goyanes y de la insistencia de los novelistas en la autonomía de este tipo de novelas, ofrece una nueva aproximación a dichos problemas.
Nuevos asedios a la novela entre fronteras
Este volumen es la quinta entrega de la red transpirenaica Aragón-Aquitania. Discursos sin fronteras. El objetivo de dicha red es potenciar los estudios de las relaciones culturales entre España y Francia en la era moderna, sin olvidar fenómenos específicos como las culturas pirenaicas (los dialectos aragoneses y occitanos). La obra presenta estudios relacionados con la novela moderna y con la novelización de otros géneros literarios en el marco de las relaciones hispanofrancesas. La iniciativa se enmarca en los esfuerzos del grupo de investigación GENUS del Gobierno de Aragón, que dirige Luis Beltrán Almería, y del proyecto Patrimoine d’encre Transpyrénéens II de la Communauté d’agglomération Pau Béarn Pyrénées (CAPBP), que dirige Dolores Thion.
A New History of Iberian Feminisms
A New History of Iberian Feminisms is both a chronological history and an analytical discussion of feminist thought in the Iberian Peninsula, including Portugal, and the territories of Spain - the Basque Provinces, Catalonia, and Galicia - from the eighteenth century to the present day. The Iberian Peninsula encompasses a dynamic and fraught history of feminism that had to contend with entrenched tradition and a dominant Catholic Church. Editors Silvia Bermúdez and Roberta Johnson and their contributors reveal the long and historical struggles of women living within various parts of the Iberian Peninsula to achieve full citizenship. A New History of Iberian Feminisms comprises a great deal of new scholarship, including nineteenth-century essays written by women on the topic of equality. By addressing these lost texts of feminist thought, Bermúdez, Johnson, and their contributors reveal that female equality, considered a dormant topic in the early nineteenth century, was very much part of the political conversation, and helped to launch the new feminist wave in the second half of the century.
