Her Introduction summarizes a complex topic succinctly and is informative without being overwhelming, set at an ideal level for the student and intelligent enthusiast. Her translation is accurate and contemporary. Gruen who has written extensively on the literature and history of early Judaism and the experience of the Jews in the Greco-Roman world.
