Shades of Love

We all need at least one guardian angel to be our torchbearer! For Vyom, it was his single, divorced mother. She taught him the most precious lesson of life, ‘Love’. After all, who better than a mother knows the true meaning of love? The moment, Vyom saw Kuhu, he instantly knew he was in love. Shy, physically handicapped, victim of bullying, Vyom is a passionate painter. Kuhu is a smart, intelligent, crazy, and voracious reader. Endless cups of tea, and talks about books strengthened their bond. Soon, Kuhu lost her heart to Vyom. Vyom’s life was la-la land until he learned the bitter truth behind his mother’s divorce, and the darkest secret of Kuhu’s life. Both secrets compel him to think deeply about the tough battles people silently fight.

Biocompatibility refers to the ability of a biomaterial to perform its desired function with respect to a medical therapy, without eliciting any undesirable local or systemic effects in the recipient or beneficiary of that therapy, but generating the most appropriate beneficial cellular or tissue response in that specific situation, and optimizing the clinically relevant performance of that therapy, which reflects current developments in the area of intrinsically biocompatible polymer systems. Polymeric biomaterials are presently used as, for example, long-term implantable medical devices, degradable implantable systems, transient invasive intravascular devices, and, recently, as tissue engineering scaffolds. This Special Issue welcomes full papers and short communications highlighting the aspects of the current trends in the area of intrinsically biocompatible polymer systems.

Chitosan Nanoparticles

The term "nanoparticles and their application" is a broad implication and discussion point for understanding by many experts. But, the question arises that do we have to restrict ourselves to the field of nanomaterials, which consists of building nano-metric structures made up of a limited number of atoms? Nanoparticle based miniaturized world which is largely dominated by application in drug delivery and pharmaceuticals and in which the dimensions of its patent based devices are smaller than a hundredth of a nanometer? How do we approach concepts which at first glance seem to be very different, i.e. the link between volume and surface of the different aggregates, the functionality of macrom...

Numerical Methods with MATLAB provides a highly-practical reference work to assist anyone working with numerical methods. A wide range of techniques are introduced, their merits discussed and fully working MATLAB code samples supplied to demonstrate how they can be coded and applied. Numerical methods have wide applicability across many scientific, mathematical, and engineering disciplines and are most often employed in situations where working out an exact answer to the problem by another method is impractical.
