Magarakattu Maruthuvam

We followed an innovative, important, and relevant method of manipulating the uvula. It had given the required low pitch to 1102 puberphonia males in one small canter. 50% of the reported cases had a history of attempted suicide. The gravity of the problem and the number are so large that they are under-recognised, under-estimated, and ignored. We simplified our approach, treatment and got a larger number of patients, with an average of three puberphonias. We assess the pitch, confirm the diagnosis, and show the patient the frequency expected to be achieved, which gives the patient confidence at the first consultation itself.
