Electrical discharge machining process is a popular non-conventional machining process widely used to machine any conducting material irrespective of hardness and strength. In the present work, remarkable improvement of machining performances like material removal rate (MRR), Tool Wear Rate (TWR) and Surface Roughness (SR) have been observed using SiC powder mixed in the usual EDM oil while machining Ti-6Al-4V material. It is also observed that there is decrease of crack density of the machined surface due to addition of SiC powder in EDM oil. At last, optimum sets of process parameters have been reported using MRSN technique in both powder mixed case and without powder mixed case.

Past Present and Future of Similipal

Similipal, a biosphere reserve in Eastern India, exemplifies the incredible diversity of our natural environment. The biosphere reserve derives its name from Simul, a red silk cotton tree found within the geographical boundaries of the Similipal Biosphere Reserve. This spectacular biosphere reserve spans over 2,750 square kilometres of floristic coverage and is known for having one of the region's dense dry deciduous forests. Its vast and diversified geography is home to a large variety of exotic flora and fauna, making it an important biodiversity hotspot. One of the major features of this biosphere reserve is that it is located within two biogeographical regions, one is the Chotanagpur are...

The food is an essential requirement of human beings. The prehistoric humans primarily got their food from the wild edible plants but since the time passed, they started to cultivate the wild plants. The traditions of those prehistoric humans take very prominent part in the origin of cultivation of plants. The domestication of plants is the starting step in the direction of a full- fledged agricultural economy. A plant is refers to as domestic when its natural characteristics got improved too much therefore it is hard to grow and reproduce those plant without human participation. It is thought the domestication is the co-evolutionary outcome of the symbiotic relationship between humans and the plants because plants and human behaviours evolve to suit one another. The humans started harvesting of plants selectively based on some precise characteristics of plants like taste, size, colour and many more. They stored and utilize the seeds of those specific plants for further cultivation.

A Text Book on DISASTER MANAGEMENT AND RURAL TECHNOLOGY

  • Categories: Art

Disasters take a toll on human lives and property resulting in losses in several ways to people and the country as a whole. The primary reason for the loss of lives is poor communication and delay in help arriving at the disaster scene. To save more lives, relief and salvage operations need to be activated in response to the disaster as soon as possible. The government, NGOs and several local agencies play critical roles in the effective management in terms of rehabilitation of the affected population. It is important to formulate risk reduction plans and implement them effectively. India has been traditionally vulnerable to natural disasters due to its unique geo-climatic conditions. Floods, droughts, cyclones, earthquakes and landslides are frequent phenomena. Disaster management occupies an important place in this country’s policy framework because, it is primarily the poor and the underprivileged who are the worst affected by these calamities/disasters.

Complexion based discrimination is a harsh prejudice against dark-skinned people by fair-skinned people that has been prevalent in all countries and continents of the world. This book states the unbearable traumas faced by dark-skinned people such as Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther, Jimmy Carter, Barack Obama, Mahatma Gandhi, Bhimrao Ambedkar, and the Dalai Lama. The book is a harsh whip against the orthodox dogmas that make the lives of dark or black skinned people hell and is a healing balm to restore their stamina in the fight against people who deprive them of their rights. It is an effort to strike at the root of superstitions and prejudice. Worth is to be based on one’s quality, talent, and hard work, not on skin colour.
