Jahrhundert in Indonesien begründeten Organisationen Muhammadiyya und Nahdlatul Ulama zählen mit jeweils ca. 35 Millionen Anhängern zu den größten muslimischen Organisationen der Gegenwart. Dyah Ayu Krismawati stellt namhafte Reformdenker/innen beider Organisationen unter der Frage vor, welche Begründungsmuster zu den Themen Religionsfreiheit und Religionswechsel von diesen entwickelt werden. Der Blick auch auf deren diskursive Gegner lässt erkennen, dass diese Fragen weiterhin hoch umstritten und von hoher Relevanz für die gegenwärtige Gesellschaft Indonesien sind.
In Memory of Them
The book presents accounts of women reformers in the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus (EECMY). The editors collected their stories and put them in a historic context, covering a period of 150 years starting from the arrival of Gustava Lundahl from Sweden in 1870 with her vision of a girls' school. A large field of experiences is covered from slaves to high standing women; illiterate ones and Bible translators; teachers and medical professionals; women with family responsibilities and those, who dedicated their lives to the gospel; women who were imprisoned and those holding leading positions.

The First World War led to a fundamental reorganization of international relations. This had a profound impact on churches and mission agencies and their ecumenical networks. European Christianity was increasingly questioned. The shock was all the greater since the war alliances were formed without taking religious orientation into consideration. Mmanwu and Mission among the Igbo People of Nigeria
The joy over the growth of Christianity in Africa is also a challenge to all concerned to help Christianity take roots, ennoble and become one with the cultural life of the numerous tribes of Africa. This missionary expectation is not yet fully realized in many local churches in Africa. From these perspectives, Adolphus Chikezie Anuka inaugurates a new brand of concrete, target-oriented emphasis on dialogical inculturation. In this book, the Mmanwu cultural institution of the Igbo people of south eastern Nigeria stands in central focus, opening itself to the influences of Christian values as well as speaking to the religious assumptions of Christianity. The theoretical results of this research work and its practical pastoral suggestions are both enlightening and appealing.
Christian Witness in a Globalized World

Today Islam is numerically the second largest religion in the world. Its message is aimed generally at all people and has been addressed to Muslims and non-Muslims alike since the beginning of Islam through the »Call to Islam« (Arabic daʻwa islamiyya). After a brief historical sketch of different forms of daʻwa, this book provides an overview of various daʻwa theologies of the 20th and 21st centuries as well as of some daʻwa organizations and different daʻwa approaches.
