Este ensayo tiene como eje central presentar un análisis sobre la desigualdad de oportunidades del género femenino, en detrimento de la consolidación democrática, a la que se enfrentan las mujeres de América Latina para acceder al ámbito político, de igual forma, averiguar las reformas electorales que han incluido los países de la región para que, por un lado, se reconociera el derecho al voto de la mujer y estas pudieran ejercerlo y, por otro, las regulaciones jurídicas que garantizan la paridad de género, con ello, se pretende aportar elementos que motiven la discusión sobre los efectos de la participación de la mujer en la anhelada consolidación de los sistemas democráticos de los países de América Latina.

This book contains the Proceedings of the First International Conference 'Beyond the Desert' - on Particle Physics beyond the Standard Model held in June 1997. The conference brought together leading researchers from particle physics and astrophysics to present recent developments and future perspectives, both experimental and theoretical, in this topical field. The complementary approaches of accelerator and non-accelerator research were given equal emphasis. The invited review papers provide a good overview of the field and the contributed papers give the latest results and point the way forward with possible future experiments.
Revival: A History of Spanish Literature (1930)
The present English version, authorized by the publishers and heirs of M. Merimee, is based on the third French Edition. New material of two sorts has been added, however. First, the translator has been allowed to utlize an annotated, interleaved copy of the Precis, 1922, in which the author, and after his death his son Henri, himself a distinguished Hispanist, had set down material for the next revision. This accounts for many inserted names and phrases, and some paragraphs. Second, the translator has rewritten and added with some freedom.
