As seen in Season Two of the HBO docuseries THE VOW They draw you in with the promise of empowerment, self-discovery, women helping women. The more secretive those connections are, the more exclusive you feel. Little did you know, you just joined a cult. Sex trafficking. Self-help coaching. Forced labor. Mentorship. Multi-level marketing. Gaslighting. Investigative journalist Sarah Berman explores the shocking practices of NXIVM, a cult run by Keith Raniere and many enablers. Through the accounts of central NXIVM figures, Berman uncovers how dozens of women seeking creative coaching and networking opportunities instead were blackmailed, literally branded, near-starved, and enslaved. Don't Call It a Cult is a riveting account of NXIVM's rise to power, its ability to evade prosecution for decades, and the investigation that finally revealed its dark secrets to the world.

Handbook of Latin American Studies, Vol. 76

Beginning with Number 41 (1979), the University of Texas Press became the publisher of the Handbook of Latin American Studies, the most comprehensive annual bibliography in the field. Compiled by the Hispanic Division of the Library of Congress and annotated by a corps of specialists in various disciplines, the Handbook alternates from year to year between social sciences and humanities. The Handbook annotates works on Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and the Guianas, Spanish South America, and Brazil, as well as materials covering Latin America as a whole. Most of the subsections are preceded by introductory essays that serve as biannual evaluations of the literature and research underway in specialized areas.

Summary of Margaret Lynch Raniere & David Raniere's Unblocked

Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 The first chakra is responsible for the root of our problems, which are the deep inner thoughts that stop us from boldly and confidently making our dreams happen. We need to find and clear the mold that has been wired into our core since birth. #2 The Root Chakra is located at the base of the spinal cord, and it is where everything starts. It represents the body’s first level of consciousness, which is a specialized awareness of ourselves as physical beings with safety and survival as the first order of importance. #3 The most basic of survival questions are asked by the infant’s nervous system, and are answered by the tribe. #4 The first chakra is developed when we are infants, and it reflects our parents’ beliefs as our rules, their fears as our dangers, and their treatment of us as a reflection of who we are and what we intrinsically deserve. We feel intrinsically safe because we belong and are loved and supported by a tribe that has our back.

South Bethlehem

The story begins in 1848, when the Moravian Brethren sold 274 acres of farmland to investors who resold them as building lots. By 1855, Asa Packer had laid the tracks of his Lehigh Valley Railroad along the Lehigh River, bringing coal from Carbon County to markets in New York and Philadelphia. Industries rapidly grew, with the Pennsylvania and Lehigh Zinc Company in 1853 and the Saucona Iron Company in 1857. By 1865, South Bethlehem became a borough. Charles M. Schwab headed the former Iron Company in 1906, renaming it the Bethlehem Steel Corporation, and was instrumental in uniting the Bethlehems as one city in 1918. Countless immigrants shaped the tone of this region. Today the Sands Casino occupies part of the former Bethlehem Steel site. It is the future home of art and music venues that will contribute to a city already known for its historic and cultural heritage.?
