A young girl and her parents travel from Chicago's Uptown neighborhood to see the Grant Park Orchestra. "It's gonna be ee--lec--tric!" Daddy says. The family rides the 'L' train--what mama calls "the poor people's taxi," on the redline to downtown Millennium Park. The girl is captivated by a man on the 'L' platform playing the Blues, and later by the violin soloist on stage playing a concerto. On the train ride home, she falls asleep on her mama's lap and dreams of adding her own music to the "City of the Big Shoulders."
