La intención fundamental de este libro es ser, en alguna medida, útil a los educadores de base. La educación intencionalmente organizada, por variadas razones, no siempre cuenta con todos los educadores bien preparados que le son necesarios. El libro está estructurado en siete capítulos respetando una lógica que transcurre desde aspectos pedagógicos generales a otros más específicos. Los capítulos cuatro y 6 seis se refieren a contenidos específicos del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje, son reflexiones didácticas y por lo tanto son pedagógicas. El último sin embargo, no es exactamente de corte pedagógico pero se ocupa de un asunto muy relacionado con la construcción de nuevo contenido de que constantemente debe nutrirse la Pedagogía.
