What is suspense, and why do we feel it? These questions are at the heart of the first part of this study. It develops and defends the ‘imminence theory of suspense’ – the view that suspense arises in situations that are structurally defined by something essential being imminent. Next, the study utilizes this theory as an interpretative key to Søren Kierkegaard’s seminal work ‘Frygt og Bæven’ (‘FB’). FB is an exploration of what it means to take the story of Abraham and Isaac as a paradigmatic example of faith. The study argues that a core aspect of how Kierkegaard conceptualizes faith through the figure of Abraham is suspense. The argument is built upon the observation tha...

Tähän on taltioitu merkittäviä tapahtumia Hölmölästä ja Ahjärveltä, osin jo jääkauden lopulta, josta harppaus Suomen kaikkien sotien, alkaen 300-luvulta, uuden ajan alun kautta, toiseen maailman sotaan, rauhaan ja rakentamiseen aina 1980-luvulle. Maanviljelyn kehittyminen, puutavaran kuljetukset. Ruokolahden kirkot ja papit. Vuoksi ja Karjala. Me Hölmöläiset, olemme olleet vaatimattomia, sillä meidän kylällämme kirjoitettiin ENSIMMÄINEN Suomen kielinen kansannäytelmäkin - siitä sisäsivuilla lisää. Kylämme on ollut aikoinaan paikkakunnan suurimpia. Radiot tulivat ennen sähköjä. Emmekä me Hölmöläiset mitä tyhmiä olekaan, vaikkeivat muuta aina sitä ymmärrä. Naurammehan kaikelle, mitä me emme ymmärrä. Osasimme jo ammoisina aikoina tehdä rautaa hölmästä, siitä Hölmölä ja paljon muutakin
This book examines the literature on red clover since about 1985. In each of the 17 chapters, an effort was made to summarize the earlier literature and to integrate the recent findings into this background. The timing is appropriate with the present interest in sustainable agriculture, in which red clover was so prominent in the past. This is the first book to be published which deals solely with this important forage species. Audience: Primarily scientists and scientifically trained technicians who will appreciate an up-to-date summary on red clover.
