Snowy Tales by Young Mindz

This book, “Snowy Tales by Young Mindz” is a fictional storybook, which consists of stories written by the students purely out of their imagination and the perceptions they shared about their environment. This storybook is a successful product of the workshop – ‘Young Minds as Authors’ conducted under the supervision of Dr. Tanvi Gupta, Founder & CEO, YOUNG MINDZ. The creation of these stories encompassed a strategic movement from ideation, theme finalization, description of characters and required emotions or expressions with suitable dialogue exchange by the characters. These stories revolve around the events that our young authors could relate to and even, some strange events en...

Technological advancements of recent decades have reshaped the way people socialize, work, learn, and ultimately live. The use of cyber-physical systems (CPS) specifically have helped people lead their lives with greater control and freedom. CPS domains have great societal significance, providing crucial assistance in industries ranging from security to healthcare. At the same time, machine learning (ML) algorithms are known for being substantially efficient, high performing, and have become a real standard due to greater accessibility, and now more than ever, multidisciplinary applications of ML for CPS have become a necessity to help uncover constructive solutions for real-world problems. Real-Time Applications of Machine Learning in Cyber-Physical Systems provides a relevant theoretical framework and the most recent empirical findings on various real-time applications of machine learning in cyber-physical systems. Covering topics like intrusion detection systems, predictive maintenance, and seizure prediction, this book is an essential resource for researchers, machine learning professionals, independent researchers, scholars, scientists, libraries, and academicians.

Jay Pather, Performance, and Spatial Politics in South Africa

Jay Pather, Performance and Spatial Politics in South Africa offers the first full-length monograph on the award-winning choreographer, theater director, curator, and creative artist in contemporary global performance. Working within the contexts of African studies, dance, theater, and performance, Ketu H. Katrak explores the extent of Pather's productive career but also places him and his work in the South African and global arts scene, where he is considered a visionary. Pather, a South African of Indian heritage, is known as a master of space, site, and location. Katrak examines how Pather's performance practices place him in the center of global trends that are interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, collaborative, and multimedia and that cross borders between dance, theater, visual art, and technology. Jay Pather, Performance and Spatial Politics in South Africa offers a vision of an artist who is strategically aware of the spatiality of human life, who understands the human body as the nation's collective history, and who is a symbol of hope and resilience after the trauma of violent segregation.

Ex-Combatants, Gender and Peace in Northern Ireland

This book explores the contours of women's involvement in the Irish Republican Army, political protest and the prison experience in Northern Ireland. Through the voices of female and male combatants, it demonstrates that women remained marginal in the examination of imprisonment during the Conflict and in the negotiated peace process. However, the book shows that women performed a number of roles in war and peace that placed constructions of femininity in dissent. Azrini Wahidin argues that the role of the female combatant is not given but ambiguous. She indicates that a tension exists between different conceptualisations of societal security, where female combatants both fought against societal insecurity posed by the state and contributed to internal societal dissonance within their ethno-national groups. This book tackles the lacunae that has created a disturbing silence and an absence of a comprehensive understanding of women combatants, which includes knowledge of their motivations, roles and experiences. It will be of particular interest to scholars of criminology, politics and peace studies.
