El proposito dominante y singular de su obra reside en volver a mirar con nuevos ojos los misterios de nuestra experiencia carnal y sensible. Abrir lalectura del corpus merleaupontyano solo puede significar entonces abrir de nuevo la interrogacion por el cuerpo, escuchar y dar expresion filosofica a ese otro yo que somos y que nos interpela sin hablar: "este cuerpo actual que llamo mio, el centinela que asiste silenciosamente a mis palabras y mis actos."
