La presente obra considera que el cambio en el ámbito empresarial solo puede impulsarse con garantías de éxito desde modelos y programas de formación, estimulando esta actividad como la base de la mejora y el desarrollo sostenible en el singular marco-sociogeográfico de Jaén. Para ello, se realiza un análisis de la estructura empresarial de la provincia de Jaén destacando el papel que desempeñan las sociedades cooperativas y las empresas familiares. A partir de dicho análisis se diseñan programas de formación para las cooperativas agrarias, para las empresas familiares y para las Escuelas Taller a la vez que se especifican las líneas de actuación que deberían desarrollar las administraciones públicas en torno a dichos programas.
