Der brasilianische Theologe und Kulturwissenschaftler Euler Renato Westphal fragt kritisch nach heutigen Formen der Enteignung und Monopolisierung von Leben. Secularization, Cultural Heritage and the Spirituality of the Secular State
The purpose of this study about theological aspects of culture and social ethics is to investigate the relation between the theological tradition arising from Luther and the cultural immateriality which is culturally expressed in material progress and work. It is necessary to remember that it was Protestant theology itself that enabled this secularization process. Protestantism and modernity with its secularization proposal are processes that condition one another. Paul Tillich calls modernity and secularization the "Protestant Era" in the context of the Western culture of economic progress. It was mainly the theological tradition of the Enlightenment that separated the kingdom of the right from the kingdom of the left, law and gospel, creation and redemption, in such a way that the scope of creation became so autonomous that it dismissed the justification through the work of Christ, the gospel.
Public Theology in the Secular State
This book gives a persuasive answer to the need for public theology today. Rudolf von Sinner can draw from a rich basis of scholarship and experience related to the topic of public theology. His clear awareness of the contextuality of public theology is the reason for his repeated assurance in this book that we cannot speak about "public theology" but always only of "a" public theology. At the same time it is very clear for him that there is also an "intercontextuality". One of the great strengths of this book is its embeddedness into an international discourse on public theology, with a special emphasis on the South-South exchange. Das Thema »Frieden« spielt im Religionsunterricht eine wichtige Rolle. Dieses Heft für die Klassen 7–10 verbindet die subjektiven Lernherausforderungen von Jugendlichen mit Impulsen aus Kirche und Gesellschaft.»Frieden« ist auf ganz unterschiedlichen Ebenen eine Lernherausforderung: Es beginnt bei der Auseinandersetzung mit der eigenen Person und dem Umgang mit Menschen in der unmittelbaren Umgebung. In einem größeren Horizont werden Fragen zu Krieg und Frieden sowie zur Beziehung des Menschen zur Schöpfung behandelt. Den Abschluss bildet ein Blick auf Frieden im Spiegel von asiatischen Denkwegen. Eine solche Anlage ermöglicht unterschiedliche Einstiege und Anknüpfungen an Unterrichtssituationen, von denen aus der Facettenreichtum des Themas kompetenzorientiert erschlossen werden kann.

A crescente transformação das paisagens naturais em paisagens urbanas provoca grande preocupação dos ecologistas no tocante à conservação da biodiversidade. Em conformidade com os objetivos do desenvolvimento sustentável da Organização das Nações Unidas, as cidades devem ser espaços sustentáveis que promovam a conservação da vida terrestre e aquática que estão sob o seu domínio político-administrativo. Para que as cidades construam políticas públicas efetivas para a conservação dos ecossistemas e das suas espécies e formas de vida, é preciso conhecer como a diversidade biológica habita e interage com os espaços urbanos. Desta forma, a presente obra reúne estudos que, estrategicamente, podem contribuir com a compressão deste cenário.
