Manual of Fisheries Sampling Surveys
This manual contains guidance on data collection methods for developing socio-economic indicators, and it can be used to facilitate and simplify reporting under international conventions and agreements on matters relating to the sustainable fisheries development. The methodologies can be applied to fisheries at many different levels, from individual fisheries and coastal management units to a global level, and it aims to encourage consistent use of statistical methods in data collection.

Challenges and Opportunities for the EU Common Fisheries Policy Application in the Mediterranean and Black Sea
The application of the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) in the Mediterranean and Black Sea faces several challenges also because of large ecological, economic, political and institutional differences across the basin. The challenge of CFP application is exacerbated by the legal/administrative situation, with large areas outside national/EU jurisdictions, by the different development of fisheries that result in fleet capacities highly different on opposite shores of some sub-basins, as well as by uneven monitoring and data availability across the basins that result in situations that hamper sustainable management. This book collates analyses related to the application of the principles included in the CFP in Mediterranean and Black Sea, including assessments of current status, scenario analyses, visions of best solutions, evaluation of critical hot spots and effects of regionalization of fisheries management. The eBook tackles from local to transboundary issues and solutions and provides a broad vision of problems together with important practical solutions for CFP application in the Mediterranean and Black Sea.

The Commission may consult the group on any matter relating to marine and fisheries biology, fishing gear technology, fisheries economics, fisheries governance, ecosystem effects of fisheries, aquaculture or similar disciplines. This report deals with the finalisation of templates and guidance for DCF Work Plans and Annual Reports for 2022 onwards, as well as assessment grids and criteria for their evaluation. In addition, the comments of the European Commission on previous Member States' Work Plans were reviewed.

New Metropolitan Perspectives

Scientific, Technical and Economic Committee for Fisheries (STECF)
The STECF Expert Working Group (EWG) on reflections on the review of economic data collected in relation to the DCF and harmonisation of sampling strategies (EWG 11-18) met in Salerno, from 17th to 21st October 2011. The EWG dealt with a broad range of issues that are important in the improvement of the collection of economic data and in the evolution of the DCF. STECF reviewed the report during its Plenary meeting on 7-11 November 2011.
