"The Book Proposal Book: A Guide for Scholarly Authors is not just a compendium of abstract advice; it's a structured program-complete with worksheets and concrete tasks-that takes readers through each step of researching and writing a proposal that will sell their book to an editor at a scholarly press. The handbook is premised on the fact that an effective proposal doesn't merely describe a book project-it makes an active case that the manuscript should exist in published form because it has the potential to reach and appeal to actual readers. The Book Proposal Book works though the implications of this premise, showing authors how a focus on audience and usability must inform every element of their pitch. Readers of this handbook will learn how to both write a complete book proposal and confidently navigate the scholarly publishing process from pitch to contract to publication. Moreover, they will gain invaluable insight into their own research and the message they want to share with the world"--

Why it's time for Australia to rethink its broken relationship with the world's greatest superpower: America.
This book builds an essential bridge between climate change and social policy. Combining ethics and human need theory with political economy and climate science, it offers a long-term, interdisciplinary analysis of the prospects for sustainable development and social justice. Beyond ‘green growth’ (which assumes an unprecedented rise in the emissions efficiency of production) it envisages two further policy stages vital for rich countries: a progressive ‘recomposition’ of consumption, and a post-growth ceiling on demand. An essential resource for scholars and policymakers.

In Our Exceptional Friend, Emma Shortis draws on history, current affairs and questions of morality to mount a compelling and unique case as to why Australia's relationship with the United States needs a serious overhaul. Australians are told that we have two choices in this world: the United States, or China. Faced with that choice, Australian governments of all persuasions have always sided with America – even if that means siding with a President like Donald J. Trump. While the election of Joe Biden has led many of us to hope that we might be heading for a calmer, more compassionate world, and a reset of Australia and America’s ‘special relationship,’ going back to ‘normal’ is...

This is the sixth anthology in the series begun by the Arts Alliance Pine Rivers. Again we have short stories and poetry illustrated by local artists. In 2015, we are privileged to have contributions from artists of the Pine Rivers U3A advanced class tutored by Lillian Tebesceff. We include four stories from winners in the Peter Campbell Memorial / WAG Literary Awards for local high school students. This year's title Inspired by . . . brings together a diversity of short stories and poetry, each one inspired by literary classics or authors' peculiar interests. Each year brings a different flavour to our anthology. This year many writers independently chose to render mystery or adventure tales. Add spices of humour, fantasy and drama and you have a literary feast.
