Daniel Johnston (ca. 1736-ca. 1822) married Ann Thompson, and they immigrated from Scotland to Cumberland County, North Carolina. Direct descendant, William Dalrymple Johnson (1818-1901) moved from North Carolina to Marlboro County, South Carolina, and married Sarah Elizabeth McCall.
