This study is based on a four-hour participant observation during a 'National Sovereignty and Children's Feast' celebration organized by a Baha'i couple in Ankara, Turkey on April 23, 2011 for their students and the children living in the same residence site as they do. Multicultural children attended the celebration where activities supporting gender equality were performed. This study intends to analyze these activities within the framework of Symbolic Interactionism of Blumer (1969).

On April 20, 2011, I conducted fieldwork at the Gençlerbirliği Sports Club in Ankara (in Turkey) that was founded as a soccer club by a group of Turkish high school students in Ankara and their physical education teacher in 1923. I observed three soccer matches; however, two female American soccer players attracted my attention. In his study, I describe the details of the fieldwork I conducted, and suggest that women can be soccer players.

This study discusses how and why public and elite opinion moved towards the requirement of the abolishment of the European blasphemy laws, analyzing the case Adel Smith opened against Oriana Fallaci as an example. Consequently, non-governmental organizations initiated mediation programs between Eastern and Western cultures.
