Studia et Documenta, vol. 8(2014)
To get to know in greater detail the history of Opus Dei and its founder: to get to know the central characters, what its documents say, its influence on the Catholic Church and contemporary society. Since 2007, this has benn the task of the journal "Studia et Documenta". The journal gathers together studies, annotated unpublished documents, news of academic interest, reviews and synopses, and a comprehensive bibliographic bulletin. Each volume contains in the region of 500 pages. The articles are prepared by specialists and are subjected to the peer review system.
Catholicism and Citizenship
The beginning of the twenty-first century has provided abundant evidence of the necessity to reexamine the relationship between Catholicism and the modern, global world. This book tries to proceed on this path with a focus on the meaning, legacy, and reception in today’s world of the ecclesiology of Vatican II, starting with Gaudium et Spes: “This council exhorts Christians, as citizens of two cities, to strive to discharge their earthly duties conscientiously and in response to the Gospel spirit.” Catholicism and Citizenship is a call for a rediscovery of the moral and political imagination of Vatican II for the Church and the world of our time.

We live in societies that hunger and thirst for spirituality. Today we are witnessing the resurgence of the human being's search to give value and meaning to one's own life, and a sign of this is the demand to find spaces where to cultivate interiority, the taste for spirituality. The paths offered are very diverse. This work reflects on the lay spirituality proposed by Pedro Poveda. Some itineraries are offered in order to live the faith today in present-day societies and to be credible and audacious witnesses of the Gospel. Poveda proposes a way of being, a way of being present and committing oneself that makes visible, in daily life, the extra-ordinary distinctiveness of those who walk in the footsteps of the Risen Lord.

Annually published since 1930, the International bibliography of Historical Sciences (IBOHS) is an international bibliography of the most important historical monographs and periodical articles published throughout the world, which deal with history from the earliest to the most recent times. The works are arranged systematically according to period, region or historical discipline, and within this classification alphabetically. The bibliography contains a geographical index and indexes of persons and authors.

Fuentes para la historia del Opus Dei
Por qué un libro de fuentes?... ¿por qué es útil su lectura?... ¿por qué acaba de publicarse?...; con estas breves impresiones pretendo contestar a estos interrogantes. Existen varias biografías sobre el fundador del Opus Dei, el beato Josemaría Escrivá, pero no una historia seleccionada que permita analizar en el tiempo -escaso para una institución de la Iglesia católica proyectada por Dios hasta el final de los tiempos- cómo cobró forma una semilla o un camino de santidad para gente corriente junto con su trayectoria jurídica, hasta concluir el 28 de noviembre de 1982 con la erección en prelatura personal.
En Sevilla y desde Sevilla
El Opus Dei -fundado por san Josemaría Escrivá en 1928- llegó a Sevilla en 1942, y desde Sevilla se extendió en esa década a otras ciudades de Andalucía Occidental, como Córdoba y Cádiz. Sevilla, salvo en Ronda, no intervino en los comienzos de otras ciudades de Andalucía Oriental, como Granada, donde el Opus Dei da también sus primeros pasos en esa misma década. Casi todos los que iniciaron esta labor en Sevilla, y muchos de los que se incorporaron al Opus Dei en esa ciudad durante esos primeros años, se trasladaron luego a diversos países de Europa e Hispanoamérica para ayudar en los primeros pasos en esas naciones.
