This pathbreaking work argues that literate gentry women in 17th-century Jiangnan, far from being oppressed or silenced, created a rich culture and meaningful existence within the constraints of the Confucian system. Momentous socioeconomic and intellectual changes in 17th-century Jiangnan provided the stimulus for the flowering of women's culture. The most salient of these changes included a flourishing of commercial publishing, the rise of a reading public, a new emphasis on emotions, the promotion of women's education, and, more generally, the emergence of new definitions of womanhood. The author reconstructs the social, emotional and intellectual worlds of 17th-century women, and in doing so provides a new way to conceptualize China's past, one offering a more realistic and complete understanding of the values of Chinese culture and the functioning of Chinese society.
There is no doubt that the onset of a new decade has brought high expectations of academic progress for scholars, especially for researchers in mathematics education. The International Group for the Psychology of Mathematics Education was born in 1976, which focused on the international exchange of knowledge in the psychology of mathematics education, the promotion of interdisciplinary research with psychologists, mathematicians and mathematics teachers, and the development of the psychological aspects of teaching and learning mathematics and its implications.
Against those who insist our thinking must remain within the dominant terms of Euro-American modernity, Jenco demonstrates how China's nineteenth- and twentieth-century "Western Learning" debates offer theoretically credible alternatives to current methods for engaging otherness and confronting ethnocentrism.
This book gathers relatively recent and significant topics in the field of ion channel research. Ion channels form the molecular basis for membrane excitability in cells present in the cardiovascular and nervous systems. In many non-excitable cells, ion channels contribute to diverse physiological functions, including the secretion of signaling compounds like hormones and insulin, cell volume regulation, intracellular signaling, especially Ca2+ signaling, etc. Many human diseases have been attributed to abnormal channel functions and defective membrane expression of channel proteins. On the other hand, ion channels are excellent models for studying protein biophysics, especially the alloster...

The heaven and earth was in chaos as the heavens took on the shape of three souls, bringing their creations, the Heaven's Path Divine Artifact, into the cycle of reincarnation, and condensing the Heaven's Path aura. The grandmaster of arcane arts, Chu Batian, a 21st century fan of metaphysics and ancient literature, reincarnated and became one with three souls, becoming a legend of his generation, the god of extreme joy, Li Tianle.
