Refracciones' se fundamenta en una idea de diálogo, es una apuesta a la investigación práctica que se propone entablar una conversación con Katy Chamorro, con su danza, con su energía y, particularmente, con su obra 'De las antiguas historias de Quiché-caminantes'. Este diálogo busca hacer énfasis en la subjetividad de su sentido y en la implicación de las miradas que comparte con nosotros Katy y su memoria. Me refiero con esto a las miradas de cada miembro del equipo de trabajo, así como la misma mirada de Katy Chamorro, quien es también una visitante de su propia obra. A través de metodologías orientadas hacia la reconstrucción, la variación, la escritura reflexiva y la creación, este equipo de trabajo logra integrar lo efímero a la investigación en danza, comprendiendo que este trabajo se puede llevar a cabo desde el mismo cuerpo, desde su subjetividad y un universo de posibilidades intuitivas.

Compiled by the Hispanic Division of the Library of Congress and annotated by a corps of more than 130 specialists in various disciplines, the Handbook alternates from year to year between social sciences and humanities. The Handbook annotates works on Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and the Guianas, Spanish South America, and Brazil, as well as materials covering Latin America as a whole. Most of the subsections are preceded by introductory essays that serve as biannual evaluations of the literature and research under way in specialized areas. The Handbook of Latin American Studies is the oldest continuing reference work in the field. Lawrence Boudon became the editor in 2000.
