Chocolate Animals

Best selling sugarcraft author, Frances McNaughton shows how to make chocolate animals for cake decorating using modelling paste and basic tools and techniques. This book features a menagerie of chocolate creatures made using white, milk and dark chocolate modelling paste, enhanced with chocolate buttons, sprinkles, chocolate spreads and confectionery. The animals will be easy to make like those in Twenty to Make Sugar Animals, and suitable for beginners, with a few more challenging models for more advanced sugar crafters. First we learn about the simple shapes that are the basis for all the animals, and the few basic tools that are needed. Then it is straight on to making a rabbit, teddy bear, cat, kitten, dog, puppies, mouse, dinosaur, Christmas reindeer, owl, chimpanzee and white seal pup, and much more. The constituent parts of the animals are shown with the step by step instructions, and annotated for clarity, then each finished animal is pictured in all its splendour. Both animal and chocolate lovers will be thrilled to see any of these appealing creatures on top of a celebratory cake. The designs will also appeal to makers of polymer clay models.

This publication, on the McNaughton families of the Glengarry County area of Ontario A-D and some of their descendants, is the first volume of a 3 volume set of books with an index in each volume, ( about 1200 pages ) which includes some of the families from Soulanges County in Quebec and some from Stormont County in Ont. I am not sure if I have included all the McNaughton families that settled in the Glengarry area but I hope I have found most of them. In some McNaughton families, the descendants have been found across both Canada and the USA.

The Biography of a New Canadian Family Volume 4

A Happy and Informative Present: at the new Université de Sherbrooke, Pierre had developed a four-month teaching program for clinical nurses prior to their departure to the Canadian Far North where they would be in charge of a Nursing Station. In 1973, a group of them gave me as a parting gift the French translation of "The Scalpel and the Sword" by Ted Allen and Sydney Gordon (Toronto, 1952); the French version was by Jean Pare, 'Docteur Bethune' (Montreal, 1973). As new Canadians, we thought it odd that the French version should take 20 years to appear on the scene. We had been in Canada for 15 years.
