Stephen Fleischman doesnt know how to pull a punch as demonstrated by his hard hitting Sharp Jabs to the Head, his essays about the Bush Administration. Now, with his new collection of essays and stories, Weapons of Words, he really hits the target about where America is at present. And how we got here. And where we should go from here. You wont find any timidity in these pages. No cover ups. No excuses. But you will find some radical ideas and a radical perspective. Something fresh . Something apart from the reactionary ranting that has become the staple of talk radio and the right-wing television channels. Something with hope for a different direction. We all know that America is in trouble today. Serious trouble. Socially. Financially. Politically. And morally. Turning a blind eye to all these problems may be easier than facing them, leaving them for the next generation to deal with. But that option is long gone. Steve Fleischman has the courage to face this reality with hard facts and hard suggestions. And he never lets this grim situation wear him down. Take a look.

- God invites all people everywhere to come to Jesus Christ his Son and be saved: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16) - Eternal life is given to all those that receive Jesus as Saviour: "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the Sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." (John 1:12) - God's Holy word assures us that when sorrows and disappointments come, we are never alone. He is always there with us, and will carry us through: "When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee." (Isaiah 43:2) - Come to Jesus and find peace and rest for your soul. Receive him today as your personal Lord and Saviour. "Dear Jesus, come into my heart; forgive my sins, and save my soul. I am trusting in your shed blood at Calvary, and your death, burial and resurrection to give me eternal life. In Jesus name, Amen."

Across the bottom of the screen the ticker tape announced in large black letters 'Governor Reynolds Murdered'. Apparently his body had been discovered earlier that morning. He had been found lying in his garage. He had been shot twice. One shot to the upper chest, the other hitting his shoulder. 'Police believe that the weapon used was a 38 revolver, ' the reporter said. Kendall froze. Anthony Shaw had also been killed by a 38 calibre bullet. Kendall was not quite sure of what it all meant. What connection was there between Anthony Shaw, and the State Governor, and the business mogul, Ian Duncan. And what about Senator Mackenzie? Where did he fit in? And who or what was Latimer? Only a short while ago Kendall was a small time private detective, a Private Eye, investigating an insignificant little murder with no clues, no witnesses, and no motive. In fact, no nothing. Now he had so many pieces of a puzzle he didn't know how they fitted together. He didn't even know if they all came from the same puzzle.
