This book contains papers presented at the International Symposium on Urban Development held in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, organised by the Faculty of Engineering at Koya University. The Kurdistan region is rich in oil, gas, mineral resources and underground water. However, until recently the political and security issues were such that the region was unable to take advantage of those resources. Nowadays, Kurdistan is emerging as one of the fastest developing areas in the Middle East, with its universities playing a major role in this process. The aim of the meeting was to focus the research carried out at academic and government institutions with the needs of Society. The International Symposium papers included in this volume cover a wide range of topics and are written by people with different specialisations and perspectives.
Welding of Metallic Materials: Methods, Metallurgy and Performance looks at technical welding methods used based on different principles and sources, such as heat, with or without pressure, electrical, plasma, laser and cold-based welding. The metallurgical aspects associated with the welding processes, specifically those associated with metallic alloys, are explained, alongside the advantages and welding features that are associated with specific welding processes. In addition, the performance of metallic weldments under specific conditions and environments such as offshore, oil industry, radiation and high-temperature services are discussed. This book will a vital resource for researchers,...
Corrosion engineers today spend enormous amounts of time and money searching multiple detailed sources and variable industry-specific standards to locate known remedies to corrosion equipment problems. Corrosion Atlas Series is the first centralized collection of case studies containing challenges paired directly with solutions together in one location. The fourth release of content in the series, Corrosion Atlas Case Studies: 2025 Edition, gives engineers expedient daily corrosion solutions for common industrial equipment, no matter the industry. Providing a purely operational level view, this reference is designed as concise case studies categorized by material and includes content surroun...

"This book on the Petroleum Resources addresses the challenges of transforming hydrocarbons that exist in underground, to valuable products that can be sold and delivered. It is intended for readers who have a professional or student interest in the petroleum industry, and a basic level of prior knowledge in the technical and commercial aspects of the industry. The goal of the book is to increase the reader's general understanding of key work processes in the "upstream" part of the petroleum industry; that is, the part of the industry that locates underground resources and converts them to valuable products."
