Bulunduğu çağın kudret ve kalemine vakıf, ilmî ve edebî olarak güçlü bir şahsiyet olduğu irtibat kurduğu devlet adamları ve şairlerden açıkça görülmekte olan Ulvî'nin Dîvân'ı ile ilgili çalışmalar bugüne kadar mezuniyet ve yüksek lisans tezi seviyesinde kalmıştır. İki kısımdan oluşan bu kitabın birinci kısmında şairin hayatı, edebi şahsiyeti ve irtibat kurduğu devlet adamları ortaya konulmuştur. İkinci kısımda ise beş nüsha üzerinden kurulmuş tenkitli metin sunulmuştur. Dîvân’da 8 mesnevi, 1 manzum-mensur karışık dibace, 30 kaside, 808 gazel, 48 musammat, 29 kıta (18'i tarih manzumesi) ve 94 matla bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı Ulvî Dîvân’ının metin neşrini gerçekleştirmek ve şair hakkında ulaştığımız bilgileri dikkatlere sunmaktır. Bu eserin Dîvân’ın diliçi çevirisi, söz varlığının tespiti ve sözlük çalışmaları gibi her biri ayrı bir uzmanlık gerektiren sonraki çalışmalara yön göstermesi ümidindeyiz.
