Aan de hand van een uitgebreide literatuurstudie en enkele concrete situaties uit de praktijk concludeert de auteur dat het schoolleiderschap wel degelijk aan verandering onderhevig is. Directeurs van scholengemeenschappen dienen afwegingen te maken tussen wat in het belang is van hun school en in hoeverre dit te verenigen is met belangen van anderen.
