Foi construído inicialmente como um material de apoio para apresentação de um seminário na disciplina de Política Social de um curso de Serviço Social em uma universidade pública brasileira. O contexto de construção deste material era consideravelmente diferente da situação em que vivemos hoje em um contexto pandêmico, no entanto, não foram realizadas alterações no material. O objetivo de tornar pública essa construção se relaciona com a possibilidade de contribuir com os estudos de estudantes de diversos cursos no que se refere a política de saúde no país, já que aqui, se apresenta um compilado de sua história desde o século XVI até a criação do Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS).

Pattern Recognition and Machine Learning
This is the first textbook on pattern recognition to present the Bayesian viewpoint. The book presents approximate inference algorithms that permit fast approximate answers in situations where exact answers are not feasible. It uses graphical models to describe probability distributions when no other books apply graphical models to machine learning. No previous knowledge of pattern recognition or machine learning concepts is assumed. Familiarity with multivariate calculus and basic linear algebra is required, and some experience in the use of probabilities would be helpful though not essential as the book includes a self-contained introduction to basic probability theory.

About Trees considers our relationship with language, landscape, perception, and memory in the Anthropocene. The book includes texts and artwork by a stellar line up of contributors including Jorge Luis Borges, Andrea Bowers, Ursula K. Le Guin, Ada Lovelace and dozens of others. Holten was artist in residence at Buro BDP. While working on the book she created an alphabet and used it to make a new typeface called Trees. She also made a series of limited edition offset prints based on her Tree Drawings.
