Der amerikanische Maler und Zeichner Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960–1988) gehört zu den schillernsten Persönlichkeiten der Kunstgeschichte, seine Freundschaft mit Andy Warhol, Keith Haring und Madonna sind legendär. Die retrospektiv angelegte Publikation zeichnet die einzigartige künstlerische Entwicklung und kunsthistorische Bedeutung des bereits mit 27 Jahren auf tragische Weise verstorbenen Künstlerstars nach.
