William Pennington Quarles (1752-1814) was a descendant of Roger Quarles (ca. 1690-1751) and Jane Turnstall of Virginia. William married Ann Hawes Quarles and in 1809 they emigrated from Bedford County, Virginia and settled in Putnam County, Tennessee. Descendants lived in Tennessee, Colorado, Oklahoma, and elsewhere.
