Records of the Wyckoff famiy contained in the first (1934) and second (1950) editions of THE WYCOFF FAMILY IN AMERICA, along with corrections and additions, have been collected on 3X5 index cards by Oliver N. Rathbun of Cooperstown, New York, over the past several years. The information contained on these cards is now presented in two volumes; Volume I pertains to the descendants of Nicholas Wyckoff, the first child of Pieter Claesen Wyckoff and Grietje Van Ness, his wife, and Volume II pertains to the descendants of all their other children. This third edition contains information submitted by our members. Future generations may be able to fill in some of the blanks as they add their own data, so that later editions may be even more complete and accurate.
Completing a puzzle, even the simplest of puzzles, sets a single goal to be achieved. This process involves problem-solving, reasoning skills, and developing solutions that one can later transfer into their personal life. Puzzles are a fun way for one to develop and refine one's fine motor skills. When engaged in playing with puzzles, one is required to pick up, pinch, and grasp pieces and move them around, manipulating them into slots, sorting them, and fitting them into the correct places. The accomplishment of achieving a goal brings so much satisfaction to a player. Overcoming the challenges involved in solving a puzzle gives you a sense of achievement and pride. It provides a boost to your confidence and self-esteem as it prepares you for other challenges in future life.
