CRISIS IN GREECE -- This fascinating collection of photos shows violent riots in Athens during the worst economic crisis in Greece since the end of World War II.In 2012, the economy of Greece began a deep decline. This financial crisis caused the government in Athens to impose strict austerity measures in hopes of stopping the crisis. However, the legislative actions, which were pushed hard by the IMF and leaders of other EU countries -- especially Germany -- caused tremendous hardships and upheaval to Greece, especially the poorest of its people. As a result, peaceful demonstrations quickly turned into wide-spread rioting, as police used harsh measures to break up the demonstrators. Hundreds of innocent citizens were injured, some killed, and thousands of people were reduced to living in poverty.Today, just a couple of years since the crisis began, some civil stability and economic recovery is beginning to be felt. But much is still needed to remedy the situation and bring full recovery.

SMALL CABIN LIVING: If you enjoy the great outdoors -- hiking, camping, boating, fishing, hunting, and being close to nature -- maybe you should invest in a little plot of land and build a small yet comfortable shelter. The log cabin has been a symbol of humble origins in US politics since the early 19th century. Seven United States Presidents were born in log cabins, including Abraham Lincoln, Andrew Jackson, and James Buchanan. Although William Henry Harrison was not one of them, he and the Whigs during the 1840 presidential election were the first to use a log cabin as a symbol to show North Americans that he was a man of the people. Other candidates followed Harrison's example, making the idea of a log cabin-and, more generally, a non-wealthy background-a recurring theme in campaign biographies. We trust the wonderful photos in this book will inspire you to build your own small cabin in the woods.

HELLS ANGELS -- The photos in this book depict America's most notorious motorcycle club. Numerous police and intelligence agencies classify the Hells Angels as one of the "big four" motorcycle gangs, along with the Pagans, Outlaws, and Bandidos, and contend that members carry out widespread violent crimes, drug dealing, trafficking in stolen goods and extortion and are involved in the prostitution industry. Members of the organization have continuously asserted that they are only a group of motorcycle enthusiasts who have joined to ride motorcycles together, to organize social events such as group road trips, fundraisers, parties, and motorcycle rallies. This album of photos shows the many sides of its members and their activities.

Growing Up Greek in St. Louis

Since the beginning of the 20th century, St. Louis' Greek-American community has been a vibrant part of the city's fabric. Through a series of vivid personal accounts of growing up in two worlds during the post-WWII era, Growing Up Greek in St. Louis explores the challenges faced by Greek-Americans as they sought to preserve a rich cultural heritage while assimilating to American ways. From a detailed account of her Grandmothers' struggles during the occupation of Greece during WWII and the Asia Minor Holocaust to the first hand experiences faced by Greek-American children in Greek school, the celebration of name days, and the ever-present "evil eye," the book captures the sense of tradition, history, hospitality (philotimo), and community so vital to the Greek experience.

BONNIE & CLYDE: Bonnie Elizabeth Parker (October 1, 1910 - May 23, 1934) and Clyde Chestnut Barrow (March 24, 1909 - May 23, 1934) were American outlaws and robbers from the Dallas area who traveled the central United States with their gang during the Great Depression. At times, the gang included Buck Barrow, Blanche Barrow, Raymond Hamilton, W. D. Jones, Joe Palmer, Ralph Fults, and Henry Methvin. Their exploits captured the attention of the American public during the "public enemy era" between 1931 and 1934. Though known today for his dozen-or-so bank robberies, Barrow preferred to rob small stores or rural gas stations. The gang is believed to have killed at least nine police officers and several civilians. The couple were eventually ambushed and killed in Bienville Parish, Louisiana, by law officers. Their reputation was revived and cemented in American pop folklore by Arthur Penn's 1967 film Bonnie and Clyde, which starred Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty as the pair.
