Financial Literacy and Responsible Finance in the FinTech Era
A growing body of evidence suggests that financial literacy plays an important role in financial well-being, and that differences in financial knowledge acquired early in life can explain a significant part of financial and more general well-being in adult life. Financial technology (FinTech) is revolutionizing the financial services industry at an unrivalled pace. Views differ regarding the impact that FinTech is likely to have on personal financial planning, well-being and societal welfare. In an era of mounting student debt, increased (digital) financial inclusion and threats arising from instances of (online) financial fraud, financial education and enlightened financial advising are appropriate policy interventions that enhance financial and overall well-being. Financial Literacy and Responsible Finance in the FinTech Era: Capabilities and Challenges engages in this important academic and policy agenda by presenting a set of seven chapters emanating from four parallel streams of literature related to financial literacy and responsible finance. The chapters in this book were originally published as a special issue of The European Journal of Finance.
Collective Online Platforms for Financial and Environmental Awareness
This book contains the papers presented at the two CAPS (Collective Awareness Platforms for Sustainability and Social Innovation) workshops, namely the First International Workshop on the Internet for Financial Collective Awareness and Intelligence, IFIN 2016, and the First International Workshop on Internet and Social Media for Environmental Monitoring, ISEM 2016, held in Florence, Italy in September 2016. The two workshops were collocated with the third International Conference on Internet Science, INSCI 2016. The 8 papers presented have been carefully reviewed and selected from 13 submissions. The papers of the two workshops although targeting different goals aim at developing platforms promoting awareness on different but critical sustainability issues.

"The book Great Moments in Greek Archaeology presents twenty-one major archaeological finds made in Greece in the last two centuries. The chapters are devoted to excavations and discoveries that set their seal on their time and contributed to the progress of the science of archaeology. Building on the success of Updates in Ocular Therapeutics and Surgery, we are pleased to launch Volume II of this Research Topic. Ophthalmology is a field of medicine that has grown rapidly during the last few decades. Several new and promising treatments have become available for eye conditions, including age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, retinal vein occlusions, diabetic macular oedema, genetic disorders, uveitis and inflammations. On the other hand, recent technological developments and advanced surgical techniques have drastically changed the daily practice of eye surgeons, with new surgical options resulting in safer, faster, and more precise surgery. This Research Topic aims to summarise modern therapeutic and surgical approaches on ocular diseases, adding a valuable contribution to our existing knowledge, to describe the current state-of-the-art, as well as to provide directions for future research.
