Steidl Book Culture 2021-2022
A unique opportunity to own recent and rare titles from the great photobook publisher Containing over 116 publications, Steidl Book Culture 2021-2022 is the appendix to Steidl Book Culture 2006-2020, the set needed to bring your collection of visual Steidl books up to date. Including multivolume publications and some titles already out of print, Steidl Book Culture 2021-2022 presents books by some of today's leading photographers and artists, among them Roni Horn, William Eggleston, Susan Meiselas, William Kentridge, Gilles Peress and Mitch Epstein. Steidl Book Culture 2021-2022 contains all Steidl publications between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2022. Each book is issued in its original packaging; several titles are multivolume sets, such as Joseph Beuys: Four Books in a Box. The books are placed in chronological order in cardboard boxes, each labeled with publication year.
Concentric Circles
This is a new edition of the 2010 chronicle of printer and publisher Steidl, renowned for its photobooks and literature list including Nobel Laureates Günter Grass and Halldór Laxness. Concentric Circles takes us behind the bustling scenes at Steidl in Göttingen, Germany, revealing the surprising realities of bookmaking and personality of Gerhard Steidl, founder of the company in 1968 and described by The New Yorker as "the printer the world's best photographers trust most." The chronicle's first section "Daily Circles" is a log of everyday life at Steidl in 2008 and 2009, full of unexpected details and anecdotes: an urgent fax from Karl Lagerfeld about an elaborate Chanel catalogue, problems on press with Roni Horn's book, Robert Polidori recalling his many visits to photograph the Palace of Versailles... The second section "Artistic Circles" contains in-depth interviews with photographers including Robert Frank, Dayanita Singh, David Bailey and Juergen Teller exploring their experiences making books at Steidl. This paperback edition fea- tures a new introduction by Monte Packham reflecting on life and work at Steidl today, as well as updated artists' biographies.

Joseph Beuys: Beuys in America
A reconceived edition of Steidl's classic account of Beuys' 1974 American tour On January 9 1974, Joseph Beuys (1921-86), together with Klaus Staeck and Gerhard Steidl, traveled for the first time to America. This trip was a carefully planned performance that took place in airplanes, taxis, hotels, universities and galleries, and was comprehensively documented in photographs and video. The tour began with a lecture at New York's New School, visited by artists including Claes Oldenburg, Lil Picard and Al Hansen; the next stop was Chicago, the site of more controversial lectures and an unexpected performance reenacting the death of John Dillinger; then Minneapolis, with more conferences and discussions. Upon returning to Germany, the hundreds of photographs and many hours of videotape were assembled, but it was only in October 1985, shortly before his death, that Beuys finalized the sequence for the book. Originally published in 1987, this new Steidl edition has been wholly reconceived by Klaus Staeck and Gerhard Steidl.
