Ibsen at the Theatrical Crossroads of Europe
While Ibsen's plays were not performed with great frequency in Romania, historical sources suggest that he had a significant impact on national acting and staging practices. To address this contradiction, Gianina Druta investigates the performance history of Henrik Ibsen in the Romanian theatre between 1894 and 1947, combining Digital Humanities and theatre historiography. This investigation of the European theatre culture and the way in which the foreign influences on Romanian theatre were distilled by local Ibsenites provides new insights into processes of cultural transmission. Thus, this study presents an unpredictable and uniquely European landscape that escapes essentialist definitions.

This investigation of the European theatre culture and the way in which the foreign acting and staging traditions influenced the Romanian Ibsenites provides new insights into mechanisms of aesthetic transmission. Thus, this study presents a European theatre landscape whose unpredictability and uniqueness cannot be confined to essentialist interpretations.
Ibsen on the German Stage 1876–1918
Digital humanities has opened up new avenues for Ibsen scholarship, and recent developments within the field of e-research methodologies have formed a point of departure for questioning conventional assumptions. This book explores the early reception of Ibsen on the German stage from a quantitative angle using the performance database IbsenStage as a research tool. Visualization techniques are adopted as a means to prepare data for analysis and identify the major patterns in the production history, and data interrogation methodology is used to trigger new lines of enquiry.

The concept of »worldmaking« is based on the idea that 'the world' is not given, but rather produced through language, actions, ideas and perception. This collection of essays takes a closer look at various hybrid and disparate worlds related to dance and choreography. Coming from a broad range of different backgrounds and disciplines, the authors inquire into the ways of producing 'dance worlds': through artistic practice, discourse and media, choreographic form and dance material. Dancing Postcolonialism
This book presents the first in-depth critical and historical examination of the internationally renowned National Dance Theatre Company of Jamaica (NDTC) in the context of postcolonial theatre. Combining a postcolonial theoretical framework with performance studies and dance analysis, the study examines the interrelationship of Jamaican modern dance theatre aesthetics and the Caribbean's complex cultural genealogy since 1492. Addressing issues of postcolonial nationalism and Jamaican identity politics, the book provides the first comprehensive study of the NDTC's modern dance theatre works as it situates dance theatre choreography at the centre of postcolonial independence politics and cultural theory in the Caribbean.
