Santa Maria del Prato in Campagnano. Mille anni di storia
La storia della chiesa e convento di Santa Maria del Prato in Campagnano, fondazione benedettina attestata dal 1093, poi trasferita ai Minori conventuali nel secolo XIII e nel 1488 ai Minori osservanti, è una storia di lunga durata' che termina con la soppressione dell'Ente nel 1873, a seguito delle leggi eversive dell'asse ecclesiastico, per risorgere, negli ultimi decenni del secolo scorso, come Ente Assistenza Sociale "Il Salvatore". Ciò che sorprende è la 'quantità di storia' generata, a testimonianza della vitalità di questa fondazione la cui storia emerge alla nascita della nazione italiana e sempre è intrecciata nella complessa e complicata vicenda del Paese. Preserving Our History
PRESERVING OUR HISTORY takes a serious look into the history ofthe immigrants from the town of Calitri, Italy. These immigrants broughtwith them a strong sense of community and kinship. This helped easetheir transition into America as they spread out to various locations andmaintained their ties to fellow Calitrani as well as to their common valuesof family, faith, courage and mutual support. While gradually assimilatinginto their new environs, newcomers left paper trails of documentsand information, some fortunately still treasured and preserved bydescendents, many others stored in various archival institutes waiting tobe discovered and added to known facts.

Italians to America: January 1880-December 1884
