“Hacer invivible la república”: Reflexiones en torno a la figura de Laureano Gómez Castro
El ser latinoamericano ha existido, existe y existirá fermentándose siempre en nuestra cotidianidad sensible, pues no hay identidad sin cercanía material, sin objetos queridos, sin lugares amados, sin espacios habitados, sin autorreconocimiento estético. Partiendo de este convencimiento, nos hemos arriesgado con el presente trabajo a responder por fin la esquiva pregunta heideggeriana: ¿qué es el ser?... Sin lugar a duda, ¡el ser es "lo sencillo"! Solo basta con internarnos en “El camino en el campo” para develar, desde un diálogo muy propio con Heidegger, que el ser es la relación sublime del hombre con todo aquello que cuida, protege, mantiene, ama y habita.
Naturaleza y ambiente, dos categorías que se enfrentan.
Este libro busca entablar un diálogo entre diferentes investigadores que trabajan con pueblos originarios —tikuna, uitoto y muisca— y que, desde sus objetivos particulares, reflexionan acerca de las tensiones entre la naturaleza y el concepto de ambiente derivado de la modernidad. La naturaleza, desde la perspectiva de dichos pueblos, posee un carácter holístico: el ser humano es una extensión de ella, recibe y ofrece en una relación constante, integrada y equilibrada. Por su parte, el ambiente es de carácter dual: la naturaleza y la cultura se separan, puesto que los seres humanos conocen, controlan y dominan la naturaleza a través del método científico y el desarrollo de la tecnología.
Los herederos de Quintín Lame y del zapatismo:
Tanto en los escenarios de las luchas zapatistas en México como en aquellos de las luchas de los indígenas y campesinos del Cauca en Colombia se presenta una historia de hegemonías políticas que estos movimientos han buscado confrontar en un proceso que pasó de la lucha armada a propuestas pacifistas, pero sin dejar de ser revolucionarias, resistentes y reivindicadoras de la autonomía de los pueblos, y en cuyos marcos han emergido acuerdos de paz complejos que en la actualidad se afrontan de manera no violenta y mediante procesos de organización y comunicación comunitaria y estrategias de formación política y de empoderamiento pacifista. Esta obra es el resultado del trabajo mancomunado de investigadores de la Universidad Santo Tomás (Colombia) y la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Chiapas (México) con dichas comunidades.
Las ruinas del paraíso
Las formas del crimen desarrolladas durante la Violencia en Colombia alcanzaron niveles de crueldad inéditas en el país. Poco después de que el Partido Conservador llegara al poder en 1946, amplios sectores del mismo buscaron ampliar sus disminuidas bases políticas mediante la destrucción física y moral del liberalismo. En el Valle del Cauca, algunos dirigentes conservadores constituyeron y financiaron bandas de asesinos que, en asocio con policías y detectives, emprendieron campañas de homogenización conservadora a través tanto del asesinato selectivo como de masacres perpetradas en diversos lugares. Muchos de estos asesinos cometieron sus crímenes con sadismo y sevicia, ejecutando prácticas oprobiosas sobre las víctimas. De manera que lo atroz se constituyó en una característica fundamental de esta violencia y en un asunto de especial relevancia para la literatura que se ocupó del fenómeno. En este libro se hacen aproximaciones críticas a tres novelas vallecaucanas que son especialmente relevantes en este corpus: Viento seco (1953), Cóndores no entierran todos los días (1972) y Noche de pájaros (1984).
