"Mit Südtirol am Scheideweg", 1984 erstmals erschienen, stieß auf große Resonanz, erlebte mehrere Auflagen und auch eine Übersetzung ins Italienische. Seit Jahren vergriffen, wird es anlässlich des 100. Geburtstages von Friedl Volgger am 4. September 2014 neu aufgelegt, ergänzt mit seinen Briefen aus Dachau und Beiträgen seiner drei Kinder sowie von Journalisten und Historikern.
