Las autoras se han preguntado cómo han sido leídos e interpretados los relatos bíblicos a lo largo del tiempo, de qué forma se han transformado en imágenes y qué valores se han transmitido con ellas. Las respuestas que ofrece este libro parten de distintos ámbitos del conocimiento, como la teología, la historia del arte o la filología, mostrando una aproximación transversal, plural y enriquecedora que aporta claves para comprender la historia de la transmisión y recepción del texto bíblico en general y de las mujeres del Antiguo Testamento en particular.

Jewish Studies at the Turn of the Twentieth Century
In July of 1998 the European Association for Jewish Studies celebrated its Sixth Congress in Toledo, with almost four hundred participants. In these Proceedings 169 papers and communications read during the conference have been collected . By and large, they offer a broad, realistic perspective on the advances, achievements and anxieties of Judaic Studies at the turn of the 20th century, on the eve of the new millennium. They represent the point of view of the European scholars, enriched with notable contributions by colleagues from other continents. One volume (ISBN 978-90-04-11554-5) includes papers dealing with Jewish studies on biblical, rabbinical and medieval times, as well as with some general subjects, such as Jewish languages and bibliography. A second volume (ISBN 978-90-04-11558-3) is dedicated to the Judaism of modern times, from the Renaissance to our days.

Masora
"Masora. La transmisión de la tradición de la Biblia Hebrea" es la primera monografía en lengua española dedicada a la Masora. El libro nace ante la creciente demanda de incorporar la Masora al estudio de la Biblia. Esta obra proporciona los medios y la metodología necesarios para descifrar las noticias masoréticas de los principales manuscritos bíblicos de tradición tiberiense (Cairo, Alepo, Leningrado) y del M1 de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, así como de tratados masoréticos independientes. Entre otras novedades, el libro ofrece la descripción pormenorizada de los materiales imprescindibles para trabajar una noticia masorética y su utilización, y presenta un protocolo en el que se fijan los pasos que deben seguirse para entender e interpretar la Masora. Todo ello aplicado a casos concretos y con propuestas de nuevas noticias para que el lector afronte en solitario su estudio.
Biblical Lexicology: Hebrew and Greek
Lexicography, together with grammatical studies and textual criticism, forms the basis of biblical exegesis. Recent decades have seen much progress in this field, yet increasing specialization also tends to have the paradoxical effect of turning exegesis into an independent discipline, while leaving lexicography to the experts. The present volume seeks to renew and intensify the exchange between the study of words and the study of texts. This is done in reference to both the Hebrew source text and the earliest Greek translation, the Septuagint. Questions addressed in the contributions to this volume are how linguistic meaning is effected, how it relates to words, and how words may be translated into another language, in Antiquity and today. Etymology, semantic fields, syntagmatic relations, word history, neologisms and other subthemes are discussed. The main current and prospective projects of biblical lexicology or lexicography are presented, thus giving an idea of the state of the art. Some of the papers also open up wider perspectives of interpretation.
Bible and Computer
The book deals with the appropriate application of the computer by textual critics, grammarians, exegetes, (Bible) translators and theologians. It contains directions for educational purposes and editors of journals and texts, the collation of mss and new projects are demonstrated. The computer can assist the researcher variously; by putting him/her in the position to deal with large corpora of data. Basic research can thus be executed more readily. Powerful search programmes such as Quest II are explained. The results of more sophisticated programming are demonstrated. Not just the micro unit, the lexeme, can be studied, for semantical purposes, but also the macro picture, such as syntactical structures. Finally the book deals with methodological issues pertaining to the appropriate application of the computer. Users are warned against unreflected use of computers.
The Textual History of the Bible from the Dead Sea Scrolls to the Biblical Manuscripts of the Vienna Papyrus Collection
Biblical manuscripts from the Dead Sea and the Cairo Genizah have added immeasurably to our knowledge of the textual history of the Hebrew Bible. The papers collected in this volume compare the evidence of the biblical DSS with manuscripts from the Vienna Papyrus Collection, connected with the Cairo Genizah, as well as late ancient evidence from diverse contexts. The resulting picture is one of a dialectic between textual plurality and fixity: the eventual dominance of the consonantal Masoretic Text over the textual plurality of the Second Temple period, and the secondary diversification of that standardized text through scribal activity.
