This work presents the first five hundred of the over 2,000 documents that Robert I. Burns will make available from the registers of Jaume the Conqueror at the Crown Archives in Barcelona--the most impressive archives of this kind outside the papal series, and the first extensive use of paper by a European government. Història medieval de Sant Fruitós de Bages, Sant Iscle de Bages, Sant Genís de la Vall dels Horts, Santa Maria de Claret i Sant Jaume d’Olzinelles. Per a l’estudi d’aquests cinc antics llocs i parròquies l’autor ha pogut recórrer a una documentació molt abundant i molt rica, provinent sobretot de l’antic monestir benedictí de Sant Benet de Bages, que abasta del segle X al segle XVI. Aquest monestir i la seva gestió tenen un lloc destacat en l’estudi.
