How do you identify? Do you ident-defy? What are your identities? Do you identi-tease? Do you explore, abhor, adore your identity? Volume 16 of NewTown Writers' annual anthology series is proud to identify the creative endeavors of the GLBT community.
A collection of African-American Same Gender Loving Literature featuring both new and established writers. Grounded in a poignant and truthful sensibility, imbued with the realities of sex and love, Smith and Williams present a culmination of poems, short stories, radical essays, sermons, plays and interviews honoring notable figures within the SGLBT community.

I didn’t decide to write this book out of some noble dedication to the field of journalism. Or to revitalize “the good old days” by recapturing the past. Or tell a great story or two while singing the praises of newspapers. God knows, the newspapers didn’t always get it right, although they did get it right more than they got it wrong. Now, in this era of the Internet and social media, the opposite often is true.
