This book composes the proceedings of the international conference on Geo-Spatial Technologies and Earth Resources (GTER 2022) which was co-organized by Hanoi University of Mining and Geology and the International Society for Mine Surveying (ISM) held at Hanoi city on October 13–14, 2022. GTER 2022 is technically co-sponsored by Vietnam Mining Science and Technology Association (VMST), Vietnam Association of Geodesy, Cartography and Remote Sensing (VGCR), Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (VINACOMIN), and the Dong Bac Corporation (NECO). GTER 2022 aims to bring together experts, researchers, engineers, and policymakers to discuss and exchange their knowledge and experiences in recent geospatial technologies, advances in mining and earth sciences.
Deep Learning and Other Soft Computing Techniques
This book focuses on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and computational intelligence (CI) in medical and related applications. Applications include all aspects of medicine: from diagnostics (including analysis of medical images and medical data) to therapeutics (including drug design and radiotherapy) to epidemic- and pandemic-related public health policies. Corresponding techniques include machine learning (especially deep learning), techniques for processing expert knowledge (e.g., fuzzy techniques), and advanced techniques of applied mathematics (such as innovative probabilistic and graph-based techniques). The book also shows that these techniques can be used in many other applications areas, such as finance, transportation, physics. This book helps practitioners and researchers to learn more about AI and CI methods and their biomedical (and related) applications—and to further develop this important research direction.

Plant Genotyping: From Traditional Markers to Modern Technologies
In contrast to the external traits of plants, we cannot directly see the genotypes that comprise the underlying set of genetic material encoding these phenotypic traits. To make genotypes accessible for research and further understanding, various genotyping methods are used. Plant genotyping began with relatively simple and elementary molecular markers, like microsatellites or SSR (Simple Sequence Repeats), which were then followed by DNA sequencing and fragment analysis, PCR and qPCR, allele-specific molecular probes and primers, and now today’s modern and advanced microchip-DNA technology involving hundreds and thousands of reactions simultaneously.
