Who Would Ever Believe It ?

This is the story of my unique life, and the experiences I have shared with my wife, Arlene. We are two people from Brooklyn who married, moved to Manhattan, and lived a lifestyle that brought us into intimate contact with many of the most famous people in the world. I started out as a dentist in Brooklyn and Arlene as a housewife, raising two children. This book describes my experiences over the last 50 years, as I interacted with the most well-known and fascinating personalities in the world. Some of the people involved in the chapters ahead include, in no significant order, Sammy Davis Jr., Liza Minnelli, Gina Lollobrigida, Paul Simon, Jackie Mason, Farrah Fawcett, Frank Sinatra, Cher, Ro...

First published by British abolitionists in 1788, it exposed this widespread commercial practice for what it really was—shocking, immoral, barbaric, unimaginable. Printed as handbills and broadsides, the image Cheryl Finley has termed the "slave ship icon" was easily reproduced, and by the end of the eighteenth century it was circulating by the tens of thousands around the Atlantic rim. Committed to Memory provides the first in-depth look at how this ar...

It is often said that the greater Los Angeles area is the largest movie set in the world. Film and television series filming sites are, however, located all over the United States. This guidebook documents over 1500 locations where 1,106 movies and 48 television series have been filmed. Arranged by state and then alphabetically by movie title, each entry includes the year of release, the two main stars, a plot line and a description of the location. Filming sites located in Los Angeles are excluded. All sites are accessible to the public. The indexes make it possible to quickly locate a favorite star, favorite movie or favorite location.
