Kant’s Theory of Value
In explicit form, Kant does not speak that much about values or goods. The reason for this is obvious: the concepts of ‘values’ and ‘goods’ are part of the eudaimonistic tradition, and he famously criticizes eudaimonism for its flawed ‘material’ approach to ethics. But he uses, on several occasions, the traditional teleological language of goods and values. Especially in the Groundwork and the Critique of Practical Reason, Kant develops crucial points on this conceptual basis. Furthermore, he implicitly discusses issues of conditional and unconditional values, subjective and objective values, aesthetic or economic values etc. In recent Kant scholarship, there has been a controversy on the question how moral and nonmoral values are related in Kant’s account of human dignity. This leads to the more fundamental problem if Kant should be seen as a prescriptvist (antirealist) or as subscribing to a more objective rational agency account of goods. This issue and several further questions are addressed in this volume.

Religion, Transformation and Gender
The fifth issue of the Interdisciplinary Journal for Religion and Transformation in Contemporary Society (J-RaT) centers on the topic of religion, transformation and sex/gender. The focal point will be on religious and cultural transformation processes and their repercussions on gender roles, constructs and representations on the one hand, and on sex and/or gender transformations which are embedded in the context of specific religious traditions on the other. Transformation is understood here as change, alteration and reformatting. The multifaceted connections between religion, transformation and sex/gender are concretized in an abundance of material and symbolic phenomena and are examined starting from different subject-specific and methodical approaches.

100 Jahre Universität Hamburg
Multiperspektivische Blicke auf ein Jahrhundert Gelehrsamkeit. Anlass für diese mehrbändige Publikation, die sich der Komplexität von Universität multiperspektivisch nähert, sind 100 Jahre Hamburger Universitätsgeschichte. Nach Band 1 zu allgemeinen Aspekten und Entwicklungen (2020) enthalten die Bände 2 (2021), 3 (2022) und 4 (2023) Beiträge zu einzelnen Fächern und Instituten. Rund 100 Autorinnen und Autoren beteiligen sich an dem Gesamtprojekt. Band 3 widmet sich der Erziehungswissenschaft und der Bewegungswissenschaft, den Wirtschafts- und Sozialwissenschaften, darunter auch der vormaligen Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Politik sowie der Frauen- und Geschlechterforschung, und in einem umfassenden Beitrag der Rechtswissenschaft. Mit unterschiedlichen methodischen Ansätzen und auf breiter Quellenbasis wird die Entwicklung der Fächer teils in Überblicksdarstellungen, teils anhand spezieller Ausschnitte und Fragestellungen analysiert.

Die wirtschaftliche Bedeutung von Care Work, Berufen in Gesundheit und Pflege, Hauswirtschaft, Ernährung, Erziehung oder Sozialem, wächst rapide. Wie können die Aus- und Weiterbildung in diesen Berufen mit den Anforderungen an Professionalisierung und Kompetenzen Schritt halten? Die Autor:innen des Bandes diskutieren die Modernisierung personenbezogener Dienstleistungsberufe als Reformprojekt vor dem Hintergrund historisch geprägter Berufsstrukturen, Bedeutungswachstum und fehlender Qualitätsentwicklung.
