Free Surface Flows
The book covers selected problems in free surface flows. The topics range from linear and nonlinear gravity and capillary waves, thin film dynamics, equilibrium shape, stability, and dynamics of capillary surfaces to thermal Marangoni effects in several geometries. The fluid dynamical problems are supplemented by a review Eulerian based computational methods.
Microgravity Fluid Mechanics
Substantial progress has been made in the field of fluid mechanics under compensated gravity effects (microgravity). The main task of this disciplinehas evolved tremendously. Starting out with the aim of providing assistance in describing flow problems in other microgravity sciences, microgravityfluid mechanics has itself now become acknowledge as a powerful means of research. The IUTAM Symposium on Microgravity Fluid Mechanics has pro- vided the long-awaited forum for scientists from 15 coun- tries to discuss and concretize the "state-of-the-art" in this discipline. The main themes treated are: Interface Phe- nomena, Convective Processes; Marangoni effects, Solidifica- tion, Combustion, Physico-Chemical Processes, Multiphase Phenomena, Residual Acceleration effects, Fluid Handling and Non-Newtonian Flows.
New Results in Numerical and Experimental Fluid Mechanics V
This volume collects contributions to the 14th Symposium of the STAB (German Aerospace Aerodynamics Association). The association involves German scientists and engineers from universities, research establishments and industry who are doing research and project work in numerical and experimental fluid mechanics and aerodynamics, mainly for aerospace but for other applications, too. The volume gives a broad overview of ongoing work in Germany in this field.
Advances in Fluid Mechanics and Turbomachinery
The papers in this volume are mostly in the area of computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Furthermore, to some extend this volume contains also contributions from the field of new experimental mehtods and diagnostics applied to fluid dynamics, combustions and turbomachniery. the contributed papers cover diverse topics such as pipe flows, shock tube flows, compressor flows as well as velocity and turbulence measurements of flow conditioners. There is also a survey article on recent flow computations on high performance computers. Articles are also devoted to liquid-liquid systems, rotating fluid flows and combustion diagnostics.

Subvolume III/22b of the Landolt-Börnstein New Series presents a comprehensive data compilation on defects and impurities in the elemental semiconductors and in the III-V compounds. Data on semiconductor defects were already included in the extended data collection on semiconductors in volumes III/17a...i. Research on semiconductor defects and impurities, however, advanced so rapidly during recent years that a new subvolume on this important topic seemed desirable. The information given in subvolume III/22b ranges from trends on defect properties as predicted by theory and a survey of diagnostic techniques to extensive tables and graphical representations of defect properties. The editor and the authors have endeavoured to find a unified form and to critically select the important and reliable information from the wide range of published data. Discussions of ambiguous results or textbook style explanations are avoided.
