This is not a self help book in the conventional sense, where you will find ready made solutions to all your life's problems. This book does not endorse any religious methodology to achieve a state of bliss as most religions claim. The author has attempted to approach the subject of happiness from the scientific angle of a rationalist. Unlike self-help books, it does not offer first-aid. It proposes regular and non-stop work on your growth all the time. The basic emphasis is on cultivating the attitude of happiness, which primarily is in one's own hands. If this book succeeds in helping you a bit in this direction, author shall feel justified in writing it.

This handbook encompasses a range of disciplines that underlie the field of peace education and provides the rationales for the ways it is actually carried out . The discipline is a composite of contributions from a variety of disciplines ranging from social psychology to philosophy and from communication to political science. That is, peace education is an applied subject which is practiced in differing ways, but must always be firmly based on a range of established empirical disciplines. The volume is structured around contributions from expert scholars in various fields that underpin peace education, plus contributions from experts in applying peace education in a range of settings, all complemented by chapters which deal with issues related to research and evaluation of peace education.

The material available in English for such ceremonies varies greatly in different faiths. For example, Buddhist marriage ceremonies are mainly of recent date and have emerged in the West where such ceremonies are presented here in en English translation probably for the first time. The book is introduced with an essay by Professor Ronald Fletcher on the rapidly changing attitudes to marriage and an assessment of their significance. Janet Trotter follows his essay with a description of the legal problems by ethnic minorities in Britain.
